all Yamaha system with NS-2000 Speakers, M2 Amp, C2a PreAmp, T-70 Tuner, PX3 Turntable, all with original manuals.

a very nice rig, but the $4000 asking price is a bit much.

I wonder what NS-2000s bring? soundt/confused-smiley-013.gif

I've seen some NS-1000s offered lately for $1300 and $1400.

the NS-2000's dont come up often enough to get a precise gauge of where they lie, but i think around $2000 is about right.

i think more and more folks are hoping to cash in and are asking for the absolute max.

PIONEER HPM-150 SPEAKERS - $800

Hmmm... I once for a few short months owned a Yamaha pre and amp, but I don't recall the model #s. The amp looked almost exactly like that M-2, but mine didn't have heatsinks down the side. Any idea which model that may have been? The preamp had a panel that covered most of the smaller controls.

BINGO! That was it! So tell me... did I let a real winner get away when I sold it? It replaced a Kenwood integrated that was part of my first stereo system, and was definitely a step up. I then sold the Yamaha gear and went with Carver. Unfortunately the Yamaha went a few months before the Carver stuff arrived, so I could never compare them back to back. However I suspect the Yamaha gear might have been the better equipment.

dunno, but i suspect it was no more than a lateral move.
