Grounding some capsWhen i'd put those Philips caps and before closing the amp's case i turned it on to see if somethings wrong. I have the habit tapping all the caps with my fingers to check if some solder is loose or not and i'd notice that in three of the caps - nichicon muse - when i'd tapped them i'd listen some noise coming from the speakers...I'd check the solder joints and everything's ok

I been listen to this amp ever since and it sounds great, but today i remember reading somewhere about caps cases being earthed to avoid microphonic and RF interferences, so with the wires i have at hand i'd made that on those three caps to see what happens.
There's no way the aluminium caps will accept solder so it was a case of sticking the bare wires to the tops of the lytics with sticky backed aluminium foil...
It's all a bit string and sellotape looking but mechanically sound with continuity 100%.

Now i'd tapped them with my fingers and no noise comes from the speakers.

If they can picked up my fingers' tapping they also can picking up room noise around it (acting as a condensor mic). Not anymore!
I tell you this tweak really works!!! The amp sounds super fantastic!!! There is certainly a lot more to a cap than slotting it in and cranking down the lid. For now i'm not so radical to strip them nakked, but ground them, glue them, bitumen them, or put some felt pad in top of them...why not if my ears can sense a sonic upgrade?!
Later i will do the same with remain caps with thinner wires.
