this the first tube buffer i do really not easy to make the PCB board sad.gif take me 3 days to finish now just need some time to burn in and tweak it ....

this is using ECC88/6922 i use Electro Harmonix 6992 tube

nice, i think a tube buffer is an wonderful device, more than worth the effort required to make your own, but i dont have the skill for it.

I started with normal ... cap later only go for Panasonic FC

Just finish etching the board ..... 1st days

Finish Soldering job 3rd days

Need to put the solder lead for all track to avoid turn black

And Last day finally done and the tube is on let it on for 10min before playing any music

The signal cable i using Kimber speaker cable as signal and the RCA female plug i de-solder from from my spoil car amp

i also no skill everything learn from internet the PCB i also make 3 only sucess first 2 no good alot of track broken because use wrong paper. soundt/afro.gif

How about the sound ?

hehe still prefer Yaqin this one sound smooth n more detail but sound is not forward seem too far .... still need some time to break in.

now time to upgrade my tube i going for Russian 6N1P-EB Military tube and replace with some Wima n Rubycon ZL cap hope can improve smile.gif just waiting the parts to arrived

I have some Russian Military tubes and i like them a lot. The Wima polyprops are aewsome the same with the Rubycon's. I liked the Panasonics but imo they make the sound a litlle to "dry" and "edgy". My faves at the moment are Elna's Cerafine or Silmic.

i try Panasonic before for my car amp it give very clean n detail but slightly harsh now wanna try Rubycon for my buffer .. BG my country is selling very expensive 1 BG standard can buy almost 5-7 Rubycon ZL , Elna's Cerafine or Silmic cant get in my country maybe is no ROHS

At Last Done

i will be going to use bigger transformer try to search for 15v 30VA due 6N1P-EB need higher voltage
