The Audio Rig on the Cover con-*test*-('") has been a great success. However, we'd like more entries for the next few months. Just email me through the Sound-Thinking message system.

I don't know how to put a picture in a message, so here is my entry. You'll have to move it:

My shop stereo is commonly known around ST as the "Forklift System" It consists of a Sony TA-AX295 amp, a Sony ST-JX295 tuner, ($20 garage sale item) as well as recently acquired Yorx Q100 turntable (not in photo). The turntable was the first prize in a recent con-*test*-('") at ST, and donated to me by the winner to compliment this system. The speakers are military surplus, and consist of a pair of ElectroVoice "Dominator" Stage speakers, stacked on a pair of Yamaha S6115's. There is also a surplus Rotron fan for extra cooling. The rack is a vintage set of medium duty Interlake pallet rack, manufactured in nearby Lodi, Ca. Although the pallet rack has optional casters for easy movement in the warehouse, the Clark TM20 forklift, also government surplus, makes the whole system exceptionally portable. The dust on the unit is nothing but the best California central valley farm ground, donated by the neighbor.

Although the system leaves little to be desired, as you can see, we are constantly looking for possible upgrades. I know that this is the type of equipment you are looking for to adorn the pages of your top-notch periodical. Than you for the opportunity. soundt/action-smiley-065.gif

P.S. Charivari suggested I do this. He's quite a guy, isn't he? What a friend!

I love the idea of shots of folks' setups, in their lairs. I hope when my joint is ready, I'll be able to get close to as nice as some fellas are set up. If so, I'll send some pics. Until then, trust me- you don't want to see the mess I've cultivated... ohmy.gif

Charivari- 01-08-2007
Well, heck, any chance folks could post their submissions here as well in case they don't get selected for the cover? Like Paul, I too enjoy seeing pics of others' systems both for the audio porn drool factor some have and for ideas on how certain setups might work better in a room.
