Listening to NHT SuperOnes the last few nights. The white gloss finish. Very appealing.
First thing I noticed is if I move my head to the left or right, sound drops out from the channel further away.
But.... put your head in the middle, and it's like wearing a giant set of headphones.
Hooked it up to the TV, and I swear it's as if I had a center channel speaker going. Which I didn't. Incredible.
Second thing I noticed is the amount of detail these retrieve. Very, very detailed. Very clear. Very nice.
Third thing I noticed is they, if fed poor electronics, can be a bit fatiguing. No problem if your stereo is neutral or warm and of quality.
The 1.3 model incorporates the same soft dome tweeter but a poly woofer vs paper woofer of the SuperOnes/SuperZeros. The 1.3 also goes deeper in the bass department due to a larger cabinet, and incorporates a slanted front fascia to aid in room placement and to eliminate standing waves within the body of the speaker.
The 1.5s are an even larger version, and swap the soft dome for a metal dome. some claim this is a harsher/more revealing tweeter- I guess it comes down to what electronics you're pairing them up to.
I know as far as my reviews go, this one is a little flat and boring, but I'll pepper it with more info and impressions as I spend more time with 'em....

NHT made some very good speaker systems, very much along the lines of AR during the Teledyne years. the AR9's image like that, but with less noticeable dropout outside the sweet spot.
