I was a salesman for the first Setton Rep Group in the States. I worked for Audio Marketing (Rep Group for a number of the "high end" audio companies back then) out of Lenexa, KS in the 70's. I still have my Setton and B&W salesman samples. They still look and work like new! I had all the boxes and packing... until my wife pitched them a few years ago to make room for more Christmas decorations.
I met Jack Setton a few times but worked with Harold Weinberg the National Sales Manager out of Ronkonkoma, NY most of the time. I still have old dealer catalogs, salesman training guides, product information sheets and other Setton dealer items... Hay... I just found my Setton belt buckle.
I truly thought I might have the last Setton stuff around.

Roger--thanks for your post and for your messages. I find this info extremely interesting!
That belt buckle is awesome--what a cool piece of history.
and--the mystery of the infamous "AS-5500" integrated" has been solved. i had thought there was another integrated amp above the AS-3300 and the AS-1100 but as it turns out, the AS-5500 was simply another name for the BS-5500/PS-5500 power amp/preamp set.
thus--I had the AS-5500 but i didn't even know it. never, ever, would have thought that.
one more question though---do you have the RCS-X1000? of all the audio systems, components, stereos, amps, separates, receivers, ever built, the RCS-X1000 is the single piece that i would take over anything else. got any pictures of it?
Thanks! Henry

I never had a sample of the RCS-X1000... Setton didn't make that many of them. I might have sold 6 of them in my territory and they didn't sell-through well do to price. I do have pictures and a copy of the designers drawings.
Did you know that the RCS-X1000 came with a gold-plated key for securing the expensive control center?
I was a rep for Setton, B&W, Nakamichi, Infinity, Harman Kardon, Uher, Polk Audio to name a few.
