Hello,

I made a new study:

http://www.hm-moreart.de/94.htm

a double bass horn for 16-20 cm driver,
and a satellite placed on the magnet
off the invers bass driver.

The omni-SAT for 4 x SPH30/4,
2 x direkt - 2 x invers.

more than 12 different useful radiations.

any comments, opinions

Refering to the double bass horn section only, I´ve got two questions:

1 - Each horn is tuned to a different cut-off frequency, right? It looks like it, for the horn lenghts and mouths have different lenghts and areas, respectively.
I can´t read German, so the answer is probably in your study, but is there any frequency overlap between the two horns?
If so, how have you dealt with the inevitable band peak? Have you made provisions for it in the crossover?

2- I find it somewhat strange that one horn fires to the back, and the other to the front of the speaker box.
Have you ever tried anything like this in practice, not just a study? I´m really curious as to the effects this may have in timing relations between the two horns.

Note:

I´ve seen several models - The Beauhorn and Tannoy Westminster come to mind - where one driver is simultaneously front and back horn loaded, but in all instances both the horns open up to the front of the speaker.

Hello Jorge,

Saxophon, Trombone, Posaune and omni bass a physicly
the "same".

It work by membran movement crossetting and horn mouth distance.
Do you look the measurement and the single simus of the membran movement.

Most of german is readable by Google Translate:
