code was added to show the online status of participating members in thread view. if it starts causing issues with performance or generating errors it will be removed. otherwise is this a feature that anyone finds useful in anyway, or is it completely unnecessary?

Personally I think it´s a great feature.

I won´t have to go back to the index page every few minutes, as I usually do, to check who´s on-line.

I like it. It lets me anticipate which direction the objects will be flying from, thereby increasing my odds of successful ducking.

My computer is S.......L........O.........W now. I don't know if maybe someone in the house is doing something online that could be doing it, though. Let me surf for a minute.

i think its just an odd coincidence but we lost our PM's right about the time the code was added. i've removed the code and our PM's are still down so i'll be looking into this. when we get our PM's back i'll try the online status code again.

the board is moving slow for me at the moment as well. every now and then our host server seems to get bogged down, more than likely its one of those times.

the loss of PM is a system wide problem across several servers and has nothing to do with the online status code. as such i've put it back in for further evaluation.
