Well here sits the Model 5 in its new home. Need to get a proper amp stand for it. Quite a nice amplifier, although it takes a bit of work to get it into place.

19 inches wide
23 inches deep, although the rack handles add 3 inches I believe
10 inches tall

Weighs in at approx 100 lbs. I know I had to bring it in from the car by myself.

150 wpc into 8 ohms
300 wpc into 4 ohms
475 wpc into 2 ohms

one of the few amps that will drive Apogee Scintellias or the hard to drive Infinity speakers.

Well noy, just toss those babies into the car and come on over. We will hook them up. A road trip to the sunny tri-cities would do you good.

i might have to take you up on that! it would be worth the trip, but i'd have to borrow a truck to haul them.

$4500 - $6500 unit in 1986, depending on balanced I/P's or not, sweet! soundt/afro.gif

Mine is the cheap one. No balanced inputs. Still its a sweet sounding amplifier. I have owned tube amps since I was 21 or 22, and this is the first SS amplifieer I have owned that is the equal or better than any tube amp I have owned. I am enjoying listening to it these days. It a nice ddition to my system.

Cheap one, yeah, right. laugh.gif

Never listened to any other Jeff Rowland´s other than the Coherence pre-amp and the Model 1 power amps.

The Model ´1 was a truly outstanding piece of kit probably only comparable to Krell´s original KSA-50 power amp for tube like sweetness along with the authority of the best SS amps down bellow in the frequency spectrum.

Jeff Rowland himself attended a few of the first portuguese audio-shows some 20 years back. I exchanged a few words with him, nicest guy one could hope for.

His gear, even in second hand, still fetches very high prices over here. Not many show up in the used market though, for they were both excellent and scarce.

Enjoy yours Anthony.

I see now that I have joined this group just so I can be made aware of how much I don't have! Congrats! Looks good, and I'm sure it sounds even better!
