Pick My Dinner!
Where I'm staying, I'm not really wanted to use the stove- the kitchen is viewed at as someone else's personal space, and I'm not too welcome in it. My apartment stove is not on at the breaker box, and I can't get to it either. Too bad, as I can possibly cook circles around the stove owner (not saying much as I'm purely amateur). I've been living off microwaveable and cold or dry ready-to-eat foods for a loooong time now, with an occasional rare chance to use the stove.
This person is also afraid of fire, so my outdoor grill keeps getting moved away from my accessability. This from someone who leaves candles burning as they drift off to sleep.
I'm not getting out much lately, due to some complications w/ my health, and any day the cold New England winter will hit, and that's it for me- I'll be a forced shut-in. Stir-crazy , cabin fever, I'll have it all.
Thank lordy I've got two Dahlquists to take care of me.

Last night it was pretzels, a box of JuJuBees, a microwaved hot dog and can of Chicken Noodle soup.
Ugh.
tonight, I was facing a grim dinner again- Cheez-Its, Ring-Dings and balogner and orange cheese sandwiches. Oh no!
But a friend is in town. We're going to The Main Street Grill, a joint that may appear to be a roadhouse/sportsbar at best from the outside, but actually has a great class-act menu. A friend is in town. Looking forward to a night out! And a nice meal that doesn't come from a can, a cellophane wrapper, a box, a bag, or a tube.
Anyone want to help me pick out my dinner?
I'm leaning towards the proscuito chicken, steak tips, or the Black Angus grilled NY steak. They also have specials nightly- sometimes it's a thick prime rib (last time they had it, it was at least an inch and a half thick), and they have the best sirloin steak I've had, including in the city- where the food quality is more than 99.9% better than the suburbs, where I'm at now.
