Wanted: Speaker A, B, A+B RELAY for a Pioneer A-88X amplifier. They are located on the power supply board on the underside of the amplifier accessed from the bottom metal plate. Two of these relays do the switching for the speaker selector switch on the front panel. I need ONE of them. My relay that controls SPEAKERS A is defective. They are on the board located by wire wrapping posts 25-26-27-28 near a few fuses. This is not the protection relay which is located on this circuit board near these two speaker switching relays. The protection relay is much smaller.

I would gladly take the entire circuit board or just the relay (maybe even a junker amp). If you have both relays, I would gladly take them both.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks for looking.

Please email to vinyltocdr@msn.com

Thanks.

Steve

Steve,

I'm uncertain if this is the correct relay, but the Pioneer Service website indicates that the A-88X relay is numbered ASR-077. The direct replacement is no longer stocked, but they do stock the recommended substitute, ASR-1018. This relay, if it is the correct type (don't know) can be ordered here. I'm guessing this might be the one you need as they also list a second relay, the ASR-073 that appears to be less model specific and thus might make it the protection relay. If this is the one you're looking for, then they also have the substitute, ASR-073-A available here.

Alright, I've learned from Steve via email that the relay in question is the ASR-108, one that Pioneer does not stock a replacement nor list a substitute. Fortunately, I discovered Part Store that seems to stock parts such as this. Maybe if someone else needs a part, they can find it here.
