This is also posted over at AK and I haven't had ANY bites. Here ya go:
Hey guys, I have a CT-F1250 I need to part with. It has been discussed in detail on AK and worked on by several AK'ers. Here is my story:
I picked up this deck and although it was in fantastic physical condition, it just wasn't performing up to specs. Here is what I did to remedy that situation:
First, I shipped it to someone to replace the belts, thinking that was all it needed. That worked for about a month, but then it just siezed up and wouldnt do anything.
Then, AK'er JBLMAR offered assistance and I shipped it off to him to do the refurb. While he worked on it, the motor was shipped to AK'er PUSTELNIAKR, who completely refurbed the motor. The rollers were shipped out to www.terrysrubberrollers.com ($75).
JBLMAR was the middle-man in all of this, and his patience and expertise had this running great for quite some time. But then...the friggin' belts went some months later. They were probably generics, as they had already lost some elasticity after less than a year. A drop of alcohol on one of the belts can keep it going for a couple hours, but that's it.
I hate to part with it, but I cannot invest any more money in it. All said, this thing cost me nearly $500 over the past year and a half and I can't bear spending another $100 for a round-trip ticket on this.
I think $250 is a very fair price for this. The motor was just refurbed as were the rollers, which is a pretty big expense right there. And physically, this thing is easily a 9 out of 10.
Plan on shipping being approximately $50 + supplies, as I will ship it in a brand-new U-haul box, styrofoam walls and wrapped in bubble wrap. if the shipping is less than what you paid, I will reimburse you.
Pictures will be up within the week.

Hey all of you Washington DC area folk, I'd also be willing to make a trade in lieu of cash.
