you got all those cool do-dads, and gadgets, kinda like 007, cool picts.

With two wives (one ex-wife) and three kids, one in University and the others in high school there's not much money left to spend in our hobby. Sometimes i feel not like James Bond but almost like Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible biggrin.gif ...so i'll tend to explore to the limits all the little things i have or i can afford...and i feel great. smile.gif

I know what you mean, I got the teac in the shop, just got a set of tara lab IC's that I am trying out, only little things, but its what this hobby is about.

I concur entirely with you. And if we have an equilibrated hi-fi setup every little thing you can add to it has an immediate response in sonic terms. A good tweak, new caps, a new interconnect, better stands, a new set of valves...the difference are always on small details...
Sometimes I wonder if i'd have a lot of money i probably have better sonics but at the same time i'd miss half of the fun. smile.gif

I think i will try to bypass each SMD cap in this little board with MKP polyprops. Let’s see if i have the skill to do this...The quest for more detail, depth and clarity seems endless, but extremely funny and educational... cool.gif

Well, i'd made a bypassing in two of the SMD caps. Since i didn't have 0,12uF/50V i'd made with 0,12uF/250V.

Sorry about the pics...i really don't know what's wrong with my camera... soundt/confused-smiley-013.gif

quite interesting. i wonder how much the retail price would increase if the manufacturer had built them this way to begin with?

Yeah, even tough............there's always something to tweak in audio electronics. wink.gif Sometimes it works, other times don't but there's always fun playing around with things that we love and care. smile.gif

But nothing of this make any sense if we do not start from the beginning, i mean the most important tweak - upgrade - in any audio setup is imo, a "circuit tuning"- sorry for repeting myself, because i'd mention this a few times before...
An independent circuit from the electric main electric board to the audio outlets. Simply because harmonic interaction from appliances, lighting, and type of lighting also inject noise in the form of odd harmonics. All of the elements listed feed back to the entire electric circuit and branch the noise throughout the home via the neutral and earth ground. Just a thougth...
