My wife and I were doing some domestic paperwork last night and we got talking about our household insurance.
My wife made the good point that my records probably should be included as they would cost a lot to replace.

I've never really thought about my collection in monetary terms...

Does anyone have their vinyl collection insured?

well i dont have a vinyl collection, but i agree, you should insure it as you would any other prized possession.

A "standard" homeowner's policy in th US includes personal property which is usually the furniture, appliances, etc., and is a percentage of the value of the structure itself.

My house (the structure) is currently insured for $345,000 (2000 Sq Ft@ $175.00), and the TOTAL contents at $241,000. I just looked at the policy, and there are no exclusions for electronic equipment or media.

My "stuff" is covered, but only up to the limits of the policy.

(Maybe I'd better "up" it a little for the Yorx.................. biggrin.gif )

That's a very wise decision, Larry. biggrin.gif
