Was on my way to a garage sale and got sidetracked by another. As I pulled up one of the sellers said," Bad news is we're done, good news is everything out front is free!" Grabbed the speakers, he told me they sound better than Bose . Then he loaded me up with other stuff including a Toshiba BetaCam. I had to go home and unload so didn't make to the other sale. Too late in the day. Hauled one of the RSLs inside and was going to pull a woofer but found that the screws have a wax or hot glue on the heads. Not much info but I am thinking original Nevadas. 12" woofer with horn tweeter. Cabs need some oil. Anyone have any experience with RSL? I've passed on others with rotted foam but these are pleated.

I had a pair of RSL 3600 Monitors, they were designed to compete with JBL 100's. They were pretty decent speakers, I later sold them to a friend who is still using them.
RSL was based out of Southern Californial The RSL's bring fairly decent return.
There are a couple of people at AK who are running them, one is a RSL collector and has most versions made, I know too that Grumpy used to have a pair of RSL's.
I think I have a pic of mine at work, I'll check tomorrow.

I see RSL's all the time. Competed against JBL and Pioneer HPM's. Never been tempted by them. The port and paper mid/tweeter drivers look to sound as bright as HPM-100's. Stamped basket woofers don't show the same effort as the others. However, RSL did make a nice wood veneer speaker stand. I have three pairs of them.

Well, they're not Nevadas-no passives.

I learned a long time ago not to judge speakers by their look.
