I've been keeping this information to myself, as I was asked to, but now the "cat's out of the bag." Concord Music has, in typical fashion in corporate takovers in which the acquiring company has no clue as to what it's actually acquired, terminated most of the production staff at Telarc, and given them until March, 2009 to leave the company.
Most of those folks, smart people as well as smart engineers, have already jointly formed either a new recording company (fivefour productions) and a new label (Sonarc). It's very likely that we've seen the last SACD to be produced under the Telarc brand name, but should be able to look forward to newer titles on the Sonarc label in the not too distant future.
Apparently, Concord Music, with the dwindling sales of recorded music, and of classical music in particular, just didn't want to continue to take the time, effort, and expense of recording SACD's under the Telarc brand name.
It will certainly be a loss to us all, but the possibility of newly recorded SACD's on the Sonarc label, produced and engineered by fivefour productions (all of whom are former Telarc executives) should hold promise. Let's hope so.

Sad to hear. I only own a few Telarc selections, but they are among the best recordings I have. I will have to keep an eye out for Sonarc.
Thanks for the info.

the good news is that the same work will be carried on with the new venture.

Telarc is a legend.
I see no reason why we aren't seeing the birth of "son of legend"....
