Tastes in salsa are about as varied as tastes in speakers. I really haven't met a salsa I didn't like. Every night for munchies before dinner I have some carrot and celery sticks, maybe a rice cake, with salsa. Heart attacks take out the chips pretty quick. What I have grown to like that I really thought sounded flaky was a good ol' baked potato with nothing but salsa and pepper. As much as I like butter, I like living better, and the salsa really perks the potato up!
Brand of choice as of now - La Victoria HOT!
i cant remember what they call it, but the Trader Joe's red salsa is excellent.
I'm allergic, but I'll eat it 'till I get hives and breathe funny, because I love salsa.
Lately, when I can get it (supermarkets at my new location suck), I'll buy fresh salsa from the chilled isle section. San Pedro's, Three Sheiks, and Santa Barbara all make it. Great stuff, most flavors.
I really like the Black Bean and Corn, but that's one fresh salsa from San Pedro's I'm not always fond of.
As for regular jarred salsa, Stop and Shop's bargain house brand tastes more like katsup than salsa. Ugh.
I've never been a fan of the fruit salsa, like mango, or pineapple, or peach, unless I'm serving it with fish or pork. I don't like it on chips.
Trader Joe's salsas are great. I like the green chile sauce- on chips, on eggs, ect. Ohh, good stuff.
As for the lovely red salsas, I love many of them, though I find my allergies and stomache are less tolerant of the spicier stuff (I used to always get hot) since a few operations and new medications have been introduced in my life.
