I am thinking of selling one of my (three) BA-5K's, due to my interest in buying a particular Martin acoustic guitar, thus I need to raise some cash. Price: $1600 + shipping. Note: This 300 Watt beats weighs 108 lbs, and I would bring it to a local store in my area to have it professionally packed & shipped which will probably cost more than if I were to handle it myself. If anyone is in the tri-state NY area, that would be great, as a direct sale/pickup would be ideal. Feel free to PM me for more details, or if you have questions.

Fred.

Ken, he has posted on AK. He had bought a BA-5K recently and unfortunately it got damaged during shipping. I was at the store earlier today to have my amp packed & shipped. Man, the BA-5000 is one helluva heavy amp, it was quite an effort to lift & carry it to my car, and then into the store. We packed it as best we could, and doubleboxed, so I believe it should arrive safely.

The BA-5000 is my #1 favorite Sansui amp, but I am keeping my other two which are in virtually like-new condition, as well as the CA-3000 preamp.

Looks like I will also be acquiring a pair of very rare hi gloss piano black finish Infinity Renaissance 90 speakers soon, which I'm very excited about, as I really love my Ren 90's in blonde oak which I intend to keep.

Regards,

B/F

Sad for your loss, Fred, SO glad you found a good home for the beast... I've been having nightmares and practicing every bit of restraint I could muster not to bite into my savings for this... sure would have been nice to operate it with my AU-20000 preamp section, while using its power amp via Y-cable for an awesome bi-amp setup. But alas, as is known, I'm not much of a speaker guy = lots to learn, don't know where to turn.

Congrats, Fred. soundt/action-smiley-065.gif

Hi Matt:

I think having a high-quality pair of speakers really allows you to experience the full potential of the music listening experience. I am really into Sansui for their amplifiers, I cant say the same for their speakers though. In case you might be looking for good speakers that are very affordable, I suggest keeping an eye on Ebay for a pair of vintage Infinity Qb, Qa, or Qe's. They appear on there from time to time. I already have 3 pairs of Qe's, and a pair of Qb's, not to mention the Ren 90's, Quantum 3's, and a pair in the rare hi gloss piano black on the way, so I cant accomodate yet another pair, but Ive seen really good buys on them on Ebay, so it would be great to see them go to someone who'd appreciate them.

Regards,

Hey Fred,

Beautiful Infinity's, I'd like to hear how the drivers meld together.
I sure do know what you mean about Sansui speakers, had some brand-new back in the day.
Before my next big speaker purchase, I would like to hear some Altec 19's. Might try to get with Mike Gibson this winter, looks like he's home. Haven't talked to him in a raccoon's age.

Thanks for the input, Sir Frederick soundt/master.gif
