Yes, basically the CS5000 is the same as the Golden1, a subchassis belt drive machine.
The Golden1 case is piano laquered and all metal parts are gold plated.

It fits perfect to my Pioneer Urushi series stereo, although i prefer the Pioneer PL-90
when i finished the repair work.

Further i own two more turntables, a Sony PS-X800 and an Accutrac 4000

Those Accutracs are some very nice tables, I think they slide under the radar of a lot of people, nice heavy plynth, and good build quality. soundt/thumbup.gif

Never even seen one in the flesh, but my understanding is these TTs can, and often do, develop very hard to sort out electronic problems.

I believe that most end up being used manually. At least the one that a friend had.

i have an old B&W magazine ad for the ACCUTRAC. "SCI-FI HI-FI" as the copy bold went. the TT's MUCH more impressive looking in reality, though...

The original ADC Accutrac turntables were actually quite good, and fairly reliable. Their feature of being able to play selected tracks on a record was novel, and worked only with the particular cartridge supplied, which was a TOTL ADC model, and a rather good one at that.

When BSR purchased ADC, cost cutting was paramount in their minds, and essential moving parts of Accutrac turntables, initially made of cast aluminum, were replaced with cheaper, plastic parts, almost all of which jammed, broke, or failed in numerous ways. Ultimately, the Accutrac (often given an unprintable knickname) joined the heap of junk products dealers refused to carry. Too bad.
