System as of now:
Music Hall MMF-5 with Cardas rewire, Cocobolo weight, tipttoes, and ADC XLM MKII cart.
Moded Pioneer 414 cd player
Cary SLP98P preamp
Electraprint 300B DRD monos
Cary 805C monos
Altec a7 bass bins with 416A drivers
Altec 511b horns with moded 902b drivers
Sonance 15" powered subs
Velodyne ULD-18 servo sub
Behringer 3 way active x-over
GIK room treatments

The 300b amps are coupled directly to the 902 drivers for 500hz and up
The Cary's are handeling the Altec 416 drivers from 500 down
The powered subs take the rest to around 20hz

A new table is my goal next year.

The last pic was me 35 years ago hard at work at evaluating my 1st system. I saved most all of that gear that was my dad's!

too cool, you've got one of the best looking rooms i've seen.

after the wall of lp's, i really like the room treatment's, which mine is completely devoid and in dire need of. outstanding all the way around, i bet it sounds even better than it looks.

Holy jeez, that all looks nice.
I'd love to go poking through that LP stash... I've seen record stores less well-stocked!

As per usual with your system, it and the room looks incredible.

I just hope noone needs to get out that door in a hurry.

A very nice looking set up and the room to match. If you ever get tired of those "old" Altecs I'll take them off your hands smile.gif I can stack my Vals on top smile.gif

Seriously though, it's a very neat and comfortable looking room.

Thanks all. JP that door was a seperate entrance into my room for friends so they did not have to enter the house and bother my wife and kids. With my wife and I no longer together the door has not been used in 8 months LOl! My friends (wich are few) come through the house now.

You manage to make that system / room look better everytime you post new pictures.

Is that room for real, or are you just improving you "Photoshop" capacities? biggrin.gif

Seriously, now, that really is everyman´s dream listening room.

One caveat only. The picture of you 35 years ago is "Mirrored", unless your dad´s TT had the arm on the left side. tongue.gif

nice, nice, nice charlieboy!! soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

Charlie, so what you're saying now is that door is designated for your ex wife to use if she decides she wants to come visit... tongue.gif

Amazing room. I betcha I could find months if not years of good listening in those record bins...

hifi_nut- 12-17-2006
Charlie,

If you have the house all for yourself now, think this over:

Your 3 subs must be generating a lot of low frequencies, which, one way or another allways affect TT´s, and tubed electronics in particular, especially when you crank the volume up.

Try putting the rack in the adjacent room, assuming you have a room behind the waal of LP´s.
