Just found the CDP-X111ES at a thrift. Heck, even got the seniors discount. It was the baby of the line, but omg it sounds great. This is my first example of Sony's ES line of gear.

I listened to that very model extensively a few years back, along with the X-333ES, when I was in the market for a new CDP.
I loved them both, but couldn´t afford either of them at the time, so I settled for the top Sony model from their ordinary range ( non ES ), the CDP 997.
You got yourself a very nice player, Pete. One mustn´t forget Sony was co-inventor / developper of the CD standard. I´ve always rated Sony CDP´s very highly.
Jorge
P.S. - Nice to see you around here again.

Congrats Bully! I used to have the same CDP-X111ES way back when. Nice sounding if a little forward sounding as Sony's usually are. I still have a 333ES and 555ES with a bad laser.
