yeah, at the umatilla army depot. i understand that the project is supposed to be finished within five years or so. i've got some fun memories of the place; they used to have an annual open house there. they'd let you fire M60s and M16s. (loaded with blanks, of course) they even gave rides on an M1 ABRAMS and an APC they had stationed there. me and my little sister both got to ride them several times before they stopped the open house several years back when they commenced the disposal operation. i also learned how to swim there, when they were holding swimming lessons at the base pool. we were able to get in and do that because my ex-father's brother's wife is the depot's PR officer. we'd get together and go to the pool when my ex-father's mother came up to visit, and that's when we learned about the red cross swimming lessons there. i was certified to either LEVEL-III or IV. i have the certification cards they issued me. i haven't been able to swim though, since the ostomy operation in 2003. i intend to look into some waterproof pouches though, so we can go to the hermiston pool one of these nasty 100odd degree hermiston summer days......

Hi there all! Its been some time since I posted on this site for a whole host of
reasons.

But I'm back good as new and with a fresh perspective on matters audio.

My wife and I moved. We left out waterfront home In Baldwin Harbor, Long Island, New York to clear, cloudless skies of COLORADO, USA. We just got fed up and taxed up the Arse living in New York and forced out adult children into moving out and finding appropriate shelter on their own!

We have been out here almost 4 months and its been great but tough to get the place (4700 sq ft) in the smae order our former house was after 21 years. We live about 15 miles south of Denver in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. If fact we had snow on Sept 26th and there is 4ft of snow up the higher ranges.

The audio system has not been assembled yet, I surely miss my Thiels and home theater setups... but I'm going to do it once and and build a dedicated Home theater & audio room and be done with it.

I will keep you up to date with my progress via pix and postings.

Glad to be back! BTW Hi thedelihaus!

thats great, I lived in denver for 2 years when I was in the service, I really liked it there, loved the weather, it could be 0 degrees and you can still be in a t-shirt. but dont go in the shade, cuz its 0 degrees, anyway, cant wait to hear your impression on your set up in your new home.
