Not actively pursuing either, but a few locals have both a Soundcraftsmen 550x series amp and a Mitsubishi DA-A15DC, and may trade some surplus for one.
Which is the better amp?
The Soundcraftsmen is a class "H" Mosfet amp, around 200 or 250wpc, american built.
The Mitsubishi is a dual mono, around 125-150wpc.
I have made no commitments for either, and truth be told, I've been hunting two other mid-90's brands on the sage advice of my good friend Mr. Pig (who really knows his shiznit), but it could be fun to trade some unused gear for one of these toys. These amps are easily sold and may be easier to pass along than the loose gear I'd trade.
Just interested in opinions, and facts, if you got them.

I have a couple of the Soundcraftsmen class H amps (A-5001 and RA7502) neither are Mosfet.
I also have an MTX Soundcraftsmen A-200 Pro which is Mosfet. The older non mosfet amps sound considerably different than the A-200 which is very crisp to my ears so the model of amp would affect my choice.
All the class H amps are pretty similar in the amp circuit layout so they sound pretty similar to each other but be aware if they have DC offset or power supply issues it is not an easy fix without a tech who knows these particular amps well.
That being said I love these amps you get a lot of bang for your buck(but prices have been climbing) and they sound great.
As for the Mitsubishi I can offer you nothing they seem to be pretty rare and I've never even seen one in person. Those who have them certainly seem happy though.
Thanks Rick.
Thought the 5001/5002/5502 models were mosfets.
Anyhoo, nice amps, it seems. I've heard one or two fellas say they've picked up some graininess to 'em, but dunno if that's true or not.
As for the Mitsu amp, they're a nice sounding amp, but not all speakers like 'em.
That said, I've seen one up close and personal, and heard it play with many speakers, all with good results.
Rumors are unobtanium parts, and a sad truth is those big circular caps are not really that- there's two smaller caps hidden under each "dress-up" large cap "cover".
They still sound great, though.
Paul, back in the day a friend of mine had the Mitsubishi, not only good sound but kick a$$ looks, I found this information:
