Well since I have changed a few things in the system I thought I would spend the evening listening to my stash of 300B's, which really isnt very big.

I have on hand a pair of

Sophia 300B Meshplates(black base)
JJ/Tesla
EH Gold Plate

Listned to each tube with several types of music. I still prefer the Sophias the best, even though they are wering out. I suspect Shuagang builds them, and I may ordeer a pair of their Meshplates in the not to distant future.

My second choice is the JJ's. Very nice sosunding, although polite and subdued when compared to the Sophia. Still, I could see why someone would like this tube. I could live with it.

The EH were allright. More subdued than the JJ. Seemed a bit closed in and muted. Although these tubes are fairly new. As they break in more, they may open up.

It was an interesting evening of music. It is nic to be able to finesse the sound of a system by selecting tubes. Makes the system flexible.

I use to do the same tube rollin' with x-can from MF, from time to time. I have a few pairs of NOS ecc88 and 85 and some 6922 and also e88cc from jj tesla, but myl ast pair i bought from e-bay are Russian NOS 6H23p and they are quite nice...
I have ordered a new ones from Svetlana directly from Ukrane for my new tube-amp... maybe next week i have more news about them.
