Interested in picking up a CD or CD changer, for a friend's system.

CD/DVD is fine, too.

I'm thinking he'll be running a Kenwood KA-7100 and KT-7500 tuner, with a pair of Boston Acoustics A-70s or EPI 100s.

Sources will be an iPod setup via the "AUX" port, and a CD player.

A Niles or Adcom splitter will then run off the "B" channel, supplying possible tunes to a pair of outdoor speakers, a pair of Minimus 7s to the kitchen, and some Boston Acoustics A-40s to the bedroom.

No plans of adding a DAC to the unit. May add a cassette player at some point, maybe a record player, but most likely not.

Here's the requirements-

It will need variable out, and need to be remote-controlled.

It must be a 3, 5 or 6 disc player- tray, no cartridge.

Preferrably in the $100 to $200 range. Possibly more.

New is preferred.

Also is MP3 playback.

Suggestions?

I'm thinking the standard culprits here- Marantz, Denon, Onkyo. Maybe even Pioneer Elite?

sony 5-disc carousel, new, about $130, last time I looked. Put many years on one, with daily use, and recently got a replacement when the laser finally crapped out, after about 15 years. new models has attenuated volume on the remote.
