to be accurate, the EAD DAC was given a standard factory upgrade goinf from MkII to MkIII. it is the Hafler pre-amp that has been modded by Musical Concepts. the guy who did the mods told me it is their standard mod for that model pre-amp.

Scott- the II to III for the EAD- was that just for HDCD capability or was there more done?

somewhere I have an article describing a shootout betwixt the II and III. If I find it I'll send it to you.

i dont know what improvements are gained with the upgrade. i do know that it is essentially the addition of a daughter-board and it was done by EAD at the factory.
