To those that care. Here are the tapes that I used. Will do more later will also give the price.
Fuji DRII-2.00 ea. Sounded good kept the peaks on the Yamaha, lose them on my Naks. Worth the money,
Memorex CD2 5 tapes @4.99. Lost my peaks on all decks. Sounds OK. You get what you pay for.
Fuji ZII- 3.00 ea. Lost my peaks on the Yamaha kept them on the Nak. Sounds good. Worth the money.
3M Black Watch 2020 - 9.99. Kept peaks Great sounding > Worth the money
Denon HD-8 - 9.99 Kept peaks great all around tape. Worth every penny.
Sony UX-Pro. Were 4.99 each now are 9.99. Kept the peaks great tape. Worth the money.

hey there, man!! i just got your jazz tape to me! thanks a bunch!! funny, the cassette blank you chose, a Euro-Market SONY UX-Pro, is the very same as the TRAVELLING TAPE recording cassette that was being used in the TAPEHEADS TT activity i participated in last year! i took this pic when it passed my way:

anyway, it sounds great overall, but, if you don't mind me being a little critical, i found the higher ranges to be rather lacking. i wonder what that could be from? the source material, perhaps? perhaps my deck doesn't quite fully agree with recordings made on yours?
