Some like myself change avitars with our thoughts, others have avitars they use not just here but everywhere, still others choose avitars according to the site they are on, whatever you fall under, tell us about your avatar, how did you arrive at your current avitar?

I arrived at my current avitar here simply by running accross it and thought, wouldn't I love to do that to someones unrulely children, sugar em up, give them a puppy and send them home. biggrin.gif

My current one is a Kollsman altimeter that sits in my office on a shelf. I came in a lot I bought from the government.

I change mine from time to time. I'll see if I can dig out the others.

Well, i have other avatars which i like a lot. But, i got this from a pic of a band - which i don't like, btw - but, because i like music, wires & technology & experiments with a little of dark and enigmatic edge... cool.gif i think this avatar suits my intentions very well. smile.gif

My last Composing/MIDI/Synth system, just before I sold it all to start a new music venture wink.gif

Note the studio amps, Harmon Kardon 505, $65, Sansui G-5500, $75, Marantz CDP, $100 and Radford Studio Monitors 180 (stole them on eBay for $125 smile.gif retail $2700 in the mid 70's, perfect condition from one of the better British Vintage designers, single owner Jazz lover.

My $365 vintage system that ate most anything I heard, anywhere, until I rediscovered tubes. Went thru about 20 amps to match the speakers to the Harmon Kardon and Sansui. The others where bought and sold for about even or maybe a bit of profit. Loved the sound of it and had a lot of fun putting it together.

The music gear is another story of Vintage proportions smile.gif

I've used mine on every stereo forum where I'm a member since 2005. Can't think of a better one, and whenever I've changed it, people always ask where it went.

On non-stereo forums, I use Dr. Henry McCoy/Beast as drawn by Frank Quitely.

I was roaming from avatar to avatar, not realizing the true importance of it, then one day radio mentioned one of my PA-100 mk-1's would be the perfect avatar... and he was right!! An almost non-existant amp made in 1959 by Electrohome, Canada, complete with Partridge OPT! soundt/afro.gif

A drawing of Beethoven´s head, my favourite all time composer.

It is , I believe, a carbon pencil drawing copy, made by my wife´s great grand mother, reproducing some unnamed original painting.

I was thrilled when I dug it up from a pile of her study drawings, and have used it ever since.
