BTW, I never knew you gott the IMF Professional MkIII's!! You shoulda told us sooner! How'd you like em? soundt/confused-smiley-013.gif

Hey Greg!

See here: http://www.sound-thinking.org/index.php?sh...t=0&#entry40675

I'm in the process of making a new set of grilles for them. Nothing wrong with the existing ones, but I fancy a material a bit finer to make sure all that lovely high-end comes through.

I've not had chance to hook them upto 'my' system yet. They're still in my parent's lounge. Played through the Sony STR-6800SD Receiver (80wpc) they sound amazing, so I can't wait to get them upstairs. Totally different league to the ALS 40 and TLS 50. Just need to wait til my bro comes back for Christmas to give my dad a hand carrying them up the stairs! biggrin.gif

Wow, Richard, I hadn“t realized you had amassed as much good gear as you have.

Fantastic looking room. Very tidy and spendidly laid out, IMO. One can tell every little corner in your room has been carefully tought out. I particularly enjoyed the stands you improvised under the little Goodman Achromats.

You have come a long way, and you had the opportunity of listening to so many different pieces of gear in the process.

Would you consider an in-depth review of a couple of your favourite pieces?

Jorge

Hi Jorge,

You know, my dad said to me the other day, "life must be good if you can't find a place in your system for a CR-2020 and CR-1000!" I guess he must be right! biggrin.gif

It's been a fun trip, but part of me wishes I could have just skipped forward to the point I'm at just now. But then again, if I hadn't had this journey then I might not fully appreciate the equipment I have today.

I plan a full detailed review of each system, but I'd like to wait til Christmas when my MKIIIs are where they should be soundt/yummy.gif .

PS - It took me ages to find those stands for the Achromats. Extra-wide 10mm brown parcel tape. May not look very professional but it does the job! biggrin.gif

Damn, I thought they were some sort of extra rare porcelain. ph34r.gif

Thanks for the comments, and welcome to ST soundt/action-smiley-065.gif. Always nice to have an expert aboard for brain-picking biggrin.gif . What kind of systems do you run?

Right now its my epos M16s And M12.2. I'm getting a pair of Vifas from Ian in the near future to try. Really by being a dealer I've got a lot of toys to play with. I haven't had my vintage hooked up in awhile. I've got to look for some recievers.I've sold them all.
