A couple of months ago I picked up a Fisher X-100C tube integrated. An interesting piece for sure, but probably not one I will keep for my audio stable. I already have a set of low powered tube amps, and not sure what niche the Fisher would fill in my audio collection.

I am trying to figuire out it's relative worth. Uni is in excellent cosmetic condition. Wood case is darn near perfect( I can't find any blems) and comes with stock Fisher branded tubes. Faceplate is perfect also. The flaws are that it is misssing the metal screen that goes over the top rear portion of the unit, and the on/off switch on the volume knob has failed. Unit would have to be hooked up to a power strip to turn on/off.

Sonically it is fine. No hum or buzz, and all switches work.

I think I can find replacement screen and maybe volume knob/switch at Antique Electronics.....

So my question is...what is the range these units sell for these days. I could E-Bay it in the fall. Or sell it on Audiogon I suppose. I have been wanting a pair of planars, and I would toss the $ into my audio kitty.

It's a shame for you to sell an amp like that...user posted image.............biggrin.gif
... anyway, i saw a couple on e-bay and the price range goes from $50 to $100 USD.

Where do you live? Interested in some Magnapan MGA's? Looks like one sold yesterday for $177 on Ebay but I have seen them local for less.

If they are worth that little, I suppose I will keep it. Actualy it sounds pretty good. It would be a nice amp for someone interested in exploring tubes. It has enough power to run reasonably sensitive speakers too.
