Finally remembered to pick up some deoxit analog, and cleaned up a Sansui 350B I got a coupla weeks ago at the GW for 15 bux. Gave it the treatment 2X and hooked it to AR-18Bs using fine gauge speaker wire.
The vocals on the AM were crystal clear, with minimal hiss. The Marantz, which I got for 10 bux from a coworker (at least she's good for something) without an external antenna picked up the college station repeater like it was right next door, because it is. Output was balanced on both units. The Sansui is a sweet little unit, cosmetically and mechanically about an 8.5 or 9. Then I listened to my main system and my tinkering session was over...
