i enlisted the help of a buddy (who has the tools for the job) and we cobbled together some very basic and easy to make speakers stands for the Advent 5002's. they get the speakers off the floor and tilt them back at just the right angle for sitting on the sofa. havent done any critical listening with music yet, but they do a very good job with movies.

here's the basic side view of the 'plans'. no joints, just glue and screw the pieces together. it took literally less than an hour to measure, cut, sand and put the pieces to gether. use whatever stain you want and a board of enough width to suit your purposes. i used oak but i would think any decent hardwood would do fine.

I guess it was you holding the camera, Scott.

Nice and simple HT set up. Is that a DVD / VHS combo player I see there?

What do you use for an amp?

yes on both counts.

the amp is the Trend Audio TA-10.1 tripath chip amp (T-amp). nice little unit that, on first listen, sounds more robust and sweeter than the SI Super T-amp. i've yet to get serious with it, but i suspect that it will make its way into my daughters system soon. i anticipate it will match quite well with the ADS L810.

I bought it cheap in a small "pueblo" near Madrid, few months ago. It's a Onkyo Y-200D. Very warm and big soundstage. Very relaxing sound.
