from what I read, it removes hiss, and pops and clicks.

Jay's Note: This is the most critical part of the instructions that came packed with the TNE 7000A, in my opinion the best practical record-click eliminator ever sold. It's reprinted here by permission of the inventor, Dick Burwen.

But it is for tapes.

Elroy is correct, it is a pop and click eliminator, used wisely they can reduce the noise heard when replaying Lp's, I used an SAE version for a while but have since removed it, to do its job it also eleimnates some high frquency like the old Dloby did.

The reason for the Tape in Tape out is that lot of people used these to record Lp's.

If you can buy it right it can be usefull, however be careful or you lose a lot of sound. I would invest in a good method of record cleaning instead, but that is just my opinion.

Yes me too. But they are a little spendy. I think I'll ask for one for my B'day.LOL

Think of these pop and click elimators as early Dolby. The best way to eliminate pops and clicks it to clean your Lp's very well, (I only have a Spin Clean but used properly it will do a good job) if it still pops and clicks watch for a better copy, is my opinion. Consider if it is popping due to dust and crud deep in the groove it is not helping your stylus any.
