I'm chilling on Laverne Butler. 'blues in the city' 1999 release.
Mellow swing style vocals. She doesn't have the fire of Diane Reeves, but I like her voice.

Moodswings - Moodfood by Moodswings

Borrowing this one from a friend, not too sure about it for it reminds me a bit too much of Enigma. 'Bout the only good track so far is the one that just ended, "Skinthieves" featuring a guitar solo by Jeff Beck. Good enough to have me doing the air guitar to it. Then again, I've liked JB ever since Wired made me realize just how good vinyl can sound (on the CD I was only hearing the notes but with the LP I could hear how he used the pick against the strings.)

I've few Moodswings that bought by a whim.
I thought they were promissing, but never deliver for some reasons.
I should spin it again.

I listened to Paul Simon-Graceland - Just for the acapella and zydeco music.

Blackmore's Night-Ghost of a Rose- renaissance music with a touch of Richie Blackmore's electric guitar in it.

Mark Knopfler-Screenplaying- Some of the movie soundtracks he has done.

"Upsy Daisy Assortment" by XTC.

XTC has always been hard for me to pin down. at times i love their stuff, other times i just dont get it. Upsy Daisy is a compilation of the stuff i do get. i think they released this best of collection for people just like me. lots of PRAT going on here.

"P. S. a Toad Retrospective" by Toad the Wet Sprocket

i have always had a problem with Toad. they were either very good or very average, unfortunately mostly the latter. with this best of compilation i dont have to wade through the dogs to get to the good stuff. its all here in one nearly perfect package.

I think the general concept about Toad was very good. I particularly like "Walk On The Ocean", even though it has been played to death by radio stations!

i think just about every good thing they ever did is on this cd.
