Katie's voice is a combination of Norah Jones and Milla Jovovich with a touch of PJ Harvey. The music is an interesting combination of blues and jazz fusion, but it's the vocals that are the main focus. Beyond them, the instrumentals tend to regularly degrade to the bland soft jazz that's regularly piped through the PAs of retail stores, but there are still some good moments when the blues dominates.
Good neo-opera type music that fans of Emma Shapplin would love (in fact, Emma was slated to sing the lead for this album, but became estranged with JPC when she broke her contract with him to sing for Graeme Revel and his Red Planet OST work.) Only problem is that the album is a parody of sorts, so the spoken word parts present a story that is over the top ridiculous and worthy only of skipping forward to where the singing starts again.
