Thanks for the warm welcome.

I mostly listen to 2 channel stereo sometimes with a subwoofer. Are there others like me who prefer 2 channel over multi?

I recently listened to a pair of Paradigm Studio 20's hooked up to a Yamaha 3800 AVR. Everything I played through the 20's sounded great. I noticed that the salesman had the yamaha in pure audio mode and out of curiosity I switched the pure audio off and listened in stereo mode. Wow! What a difference. The stereo mode made the 20's sound like a pair of speakers from Kmart. I mentioned this to the salesman and he said the pure audio mode bypasses all the video and audio processing. I own a pair of Energy RC10's hooked up to a Denon 787 receiver which I use in the direct mode. I wonder sometimes if I'm getting as pure 2 channel sound quality as I should be from the Denon. I'm considering buying a new Marantz AVR that has a pure audio option for 2 channel, but I wonder if it bypasses all the unnecessary processing like the Yamaha.
