Cuoreboy,

Take a look at one of the earlier posts on this thread from Ian Grant. He gives a link to alternative tubes you can use to replace the 6J1 tubes. The 6922 and ECC88 are alternatives to the 6DJ8 or 6N1 tube, a twin triode. The tube buffer you have uses two 6J1 tubes AND NOT the single twin triode tube Yaqin I use. You should look into the GE JAN 5654W tube as one of the alternatives for your Yaqin that uses two 6J1 tubes. Hope this helps.

As long as they are equivalent then it should not be a problem. Try searching under 5654 / 6AK5W / 6096 as tubes to search for to replace the 6J1.

Well the Yaqin have two lytics connect in series but connected in the way to make a NP cap - i mean +-/-+ and I just add an Epcos 33uF/400V lytic cap between the hot (+) and the ground wire. wink.gif It gives us even more tight bass, bottom end and accuracy. The music have more presence, attack more alive. At least in my system. smile.gif

Later i'll put some pics. wink.gif

Adding this small Epcos capacitor help smooth out the voltage and it acts also like a current filter witch improves a clean stability to the valves output.

the tube buffer not yet arrived already think how to mod biggrin.gif

i think the next stage u change the cap at the in-put n out-put
try to use mundorf or blackgate
heheeh
u change the Epcos its Low ESR cap smile.gif if run parallel cap (add another cap) will lower the ESR its thanks

......

I choose Epcos witch is a good electrolytic German cap because that's what i have at hand. biggrin.gif
It's not my idea, at least for now, change any polypropilene cap - the ones you mention with a arrow - of the Yaqin. I like the ones it have. smile.gif
And, imo i think you miss something because i haven't connect any cap in parallel.
I just made a cap bypass between the output power supply and the unity ground. wink.gif
Also we can minimizing parasitic currents by inverting main plug or, like i do in all my systems, putting everything with the same polarity.

BTW, instead of Mundorf or Blackgates, did you ever tried ELNA caps?

cuoreboy- 02-25-2008
what i know Elna is famous on electrolytic cap Elna warm sounding wut i done for my car amp

Like Rubycon , Panasonic FC , Nichicon , Sanyo OS Con all are good electrolytic cap, if u want for non-polar cap just go for Mundorf , Solen , Hovland , Clarity Cap all is famous polypropilene cap

ops sorry see wrongly liow biggrin.gif i tot u done parallel

another question i saw ur Yaqin the cap value are different with the one i posted wink.gif

You talking about the voltage, right?!
Well, i don't know the values of the resistences that limits the current through the capacitor to a safer limit...or, even the value of the rectifier your Yaqin uses, but i assume they are different from mine.
