Seriously, my setup is a hodgepodge in a hodgepodge room, so there is no real opportunity for real "tweaking". However, when I bought my Klipsch KG4s, cubdog suggested I kick the front up 2-3 inches, and my son and I both noticed a significant improvement.

my favorite all around tweak is blu-tac to couple components to whatever they are sitting on.

The tweaks that have worked for me are all related to the turntable.

Shims to set the cart up for proper VTA.
5 pounds (2.2kg) of aquarium gravel in sandwich bags in the plastic plinth for added mass.
Blu-Tac underneath the platter to stop ringing/absorb vibration.

There's 1.000.000 tweaks out there of which 999.900 don't have any impact.

I would not call VTA adjustmen a tweak.

It's tweaking the sound when using SD feet or Sound of Silence from Solid Tech under equipment with a good result.

It's a tweak when using Ringmat on your TT.

Or when DIY multicabling in bi/tri-wire for the speakers.

It's a tweak to dismount the lid from the TT.

It's a tweak, indeed, to tune up the room acoustics for the gear in question. Use traps, curtains, carpets, furniture and in particular the right placing of gear.

The most substantial tweak, though, is the art of matching gear.
The majority forget or omis this long and extremely important process.

Matching is the art that can make a $2.000 gear set-up completely kill a designer sweet and forum recommended $500.000 gear set-up.

I've done audio tweaks since i remember listen to music... and most of them i do not consider tweaks but upgrades, simply because most of them works for ME.
The one i consider the most important is an independent electric circuit from the main electric board to all my "hi-fi plugs".
The second most important "tweak" was upgrading to better audio caps, resistors and diodes in almost all my audio components.
The third was upgrading to better power chords, speaker cables and IC's.

The outcoming results from this upgrades IMHO are just incredible.

I would not call that tweaks but modifications instead.

I'm of the mind that anything that's not specifically mentioned in an owner's manual counts as a tweak, so I'll gently claim "difference of opinion" on this.

So I guess you also consider tape head allignment and BIAS on a tube amp as tweaks??
