The Zero-Boxes did not complement the MX-10000 driving the Infinities, they simply reduced the bass. Apparently the MX-10000 doesn't need any help running a low impedence load, in fact I think the amp likes low ohm loads.

The Zero-Boxes are now hooked up to an M-4 running the top-end of the Energies, with a B-2x running the low end directly. I'll play with that for awhile.

All MX series amps, from top to bottom relish low impedance speakers and eat em for lunch, breakfast and dinner. biggrin.gif

I know low impedance is no sweat for the MX-1000 or MX-1 so I am sure for the MX-1000 it would be no sweat.

I shipped the Zero Boxes to Glenn (EchoWars) McDonald to take some measurements. Here's his report:

I checked both boxes at 2x, 3x, and 4x with a 4 ohm load and a Pioneer Spec 2 amplifier. Using 1KHz as a reference frequency (0db) at 1W, the top end is 3db down at about 59KHz, and 0.1db down at 10Hz, which is as low as I can go.

If you're getting a bass roll off, I don't see how it can be because of these transformers. Maybe some interaction between your particular speakers and these transformers?

My conclusion is that the issue is a negative interaction between the Zero Boxes and the dual voice coil Watkins woofers used by my Infinity Quantum 2's. It's nice to know that there's nothing wrong with the Zero Boxes frequency response.
