I grabbed a refurbed 8 gig Zune the other day for $60, so I could throw some random music on the system and not have to swap cd's, I ripped about 120 songs in 320 mp3. The sound quality is way down compared to a direct cd but I am only using for background music anyway, it works pretty good, I need to add more songs, oh and it has a tuner, in the mornings, I can listen to morning radio. that kinda a cool feature. I need to find a station that plays music and see how that sounds.

ya, it microsofts verion of the ipod, it works like one, does video, pictures, I can connect wireless with it.

With 8 GB, why not converting to a lossless format like FLAC?

I thought about that, there is that option, I was sure how many songs I could get on the zune if I went lossless.

A song about 4min long takes around 20 mb in Flac format.
