Larry's mention of an odd sandwich combination in "Last Post Wins" reminded me of an old Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich favorite.

My brother brought this creation back with him from the time he apprenticed to be a chef in Germany (he did a lot of odd things in his youth). He called it a "Saucy Tom" Sandwich. The makings are fairly basic, to a wheat bread base, one adds sliced turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, and alfalfa sprouts in quantities to taste. It's an odd combination, but I'm looking forward to making one.

Since the holiday is just a few weeks away, what do you plan on doing with the remains?

Turkey and stuffing sandwiches with a little mayo and lettuce suits me just fine. I'm not much into cranberry suce, but the wife loves it.

Turkey and stuffing does sound like a great sandwich combination.

Cubdog, the question is how to prepare the leftovers for eating. I was looking for ideas or do you just throw everything into a blender and make it into some sort of protein shake?

Lots of Delis serve that combo, I know as it is my all time favorite and i order it wherever they serve it up that way. We were making them here at home just last week.

I figured it was too good of a combination to not be popular. I just might have to break down and pick up the makings for some before the big day, though store bought sliced turkey just doesn't taste as good as those made with turkey day leftovers.
