Love JP's idea of, and implemented data list of speakers owned by members. Gives folk a nice idea on who owns what, what they've kept, what they've let go. And by learning a bit about each member, one can get an idea of how to take that person's opinions on said speaker.

Whaddya think of doing this for tuners, cassettes, turntables, cd players, solid state amps/pre-amps/integrateds/receivers, and tube amps/pre-amps/integrateds/receivers? Maybe one for add-ons, like Carver's sonic holograph toy, or the Hughes AK, graphic EQs, active crossovers, ect?

Food for thought.

By all means, Paul, go ahead.

I'll add 'em, a bit here and there.

I'm still unpacking, so I'll reference my stuff as I dig it out...

Best,

Paul

Maybe, maybe not. I really only have 4-5 sets i would consider real good speakers. BUT what i do like is looking over selections as for most of us you can clearly see a east coast / west cost leanings and that will factor in when reading someones opinion. Take for example I lean east so when I say I do not like HPM100's or L100's or the like people who like those speakers should really take my opinion with a grain of salt as they will most likely not like the speakers i do.

I personally have NOTHING to brag about, i am very comfortable with what i am doing regardless of anyone else's opinion of me. This is a hobby, I would give it up tomorrow for a number of things if need be, i have no reason to brag. My list consists of many speakers i consider average at best. I am in the process of getting ride of stuff i have accumulated.

My goal is not to brag, but to see what folks have got, or have had in the past, in order to gauge what I may or may not buy/sell/trade.

I've got a good speaker collection, an okay integrated collection, but my cd players, my cassettes, my turntables all leave something to be desired, in my opinion.

The list will make a good record of what has been owned, and if someone has a specific question about the product discussed, they can ask a former owner.

That's all.

Not everyone here in the States has a vintage warehouse at their homes, Alvaro. Most are quite modest, with reasonable budgets. It's the lucky ones that have had a large turnover in their gear, who have been fortunate enough to be able to have sampled the huge variety that's been on the market over the years.
