I owned several brands of speakers over time. As I elevated my front end gear, the speakers sonics improved...cause & effect? YOU BET!

My latest speakers are the 3rd generation of Thiel... Original 03a for 10 years, CS-3.5 for another 9 years, and now CS-3.6. (I had the CS-6, but it needs a lot of room to breath).

So whats my point? It took many incarnations of front end gear to max out the limitations of the speakers in my collection. I believe( for now) I have many years of life ahead of me with these CS-3.6. They will provide the resolving power needed to determine the infamous-"different or better?" conundrum.

I urge my fellow audio nuts to keep that in mind.

I have a few works in progress and some the gear has been moved around, so the pix may appear out of sync... But eveything is there! Hope you like it...

ginovino,

Stunning!

Is that a 3D acoustics subwoofer, by the way? I've got one offered to me free, I'll see it sooner or later, when my friend drops it off. Unfortunately, the driver has been replaced with a Pioneer driver.

I've also got some Sansui gear- two AU-317 amps, an AX-7, and a TU-717 tuner.

anyhow, nice setup!

"Is that a 3D acoustics subwoofer, by the way?"

Indeed it is..... The original woofer cone surround dried up many years ago and I made a lame attmept At refoaming it... Disatrous is pointing it mildly. I was assisted by the folks at Parts Express and was sold an absolutely first rate Woofer replacement for a song and a dance. The magnet was larger than the original, the basket better built and its excusion somewhat longer.. though overall the unit was faster, deeper and matched wonderfully with the crossover. For a passive sub, it has found a place oif honor. I use Kimber 8TC to drive it and the those little devils on the stands.

Thank you ALL for the flowers about how my system looks... This room didnt always look this way I assure you.

It's a little cluttered right now until I move the Gear Rack to left side of the Turntable and turn the Table around so its back is against the adjoing wall. With moving the RPTV down here , aesthetically there is too much going on against the back wall.

We now have a 50" Pioneer Elite Plasma where the RPTV used to rest upstairs.... more on that as we have the former den (under construction week 2!) gutted and remodeled!

Very nice looking system Gino. I'd love to hear it someday. It shows a lot of thought went into it.

Those obsolete Tuners are worth many shekels!!! Shortly I will adding a Kenoowd 600T for the 2nd TIME!... I sold the first one to make room for a Second Kenwood KT-917, that unfortunately met its demise while in the Possession of the Repair TECH. (They reimbursed me current Ebay retail).

As for the system it is a work in progress....and true, I am encouraged by the improvements made along the way. It wasn't cheap, and it wasn't done in a year.

Front End, Front End, Freont End!!!! Garbage In, Garbage Out!!!

As I enjoy holding court periodically... I have many other pearls of audio wisdom to come!

Again, thanks for your Kind comments about my system.

Very nice, Gene!
Three things:
1. Do you get any vibes, ringing, or resonance from that wire rack the TT is sitting on? I have to find a way to damp mine.
2. My eye was immediately caught by the small standmounts. Gorgeous.
3. I also spotted those two Ikea easy chairs! I have one very similar to that and just love it for listening.
All in all, very, very cool.
