I wanted to keep this under my hat until the gear arrived safely, and it has. soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

I was fortunate enough to get these Yamaha Centennial Edition componants.

AK forces registration to view images, so could you post them here for the number of us who cannot see them there?

In the meanwhile, The Vintage Knob doth provide and... Cripes are those lookers.user posted image

And the Centennial Edition Reference Site.

Awesome, very awesome. Where's that blasted emoticon for an instance such as this.... soundt/post-2-1162594124.gif soundt/post-2-1162594343.gif

I'm beginning to strongly suspect that you starting to get one of the finer Yamaha collections in the country.

The more I read, the more I'm in awe. That gear cost ~$20000 back in 1987 and I've no doubt it all is as good as combinations costing much more today. I think you've hit it, that near mythical ceiling where it's just not practically possible to upgrade beyond.

Yes, pictures are a necessity.

Pic of MX-10000 (there is damage to the right lower corner of the faceplate of the MX-10000, and it's obvious that it occured during shipping)

Sure looks like it will sound better than Dingus´s Sonic T amp.. biggrin.gif

Mark, that is some gear. The kind that, most likely was sold mostly in Japan only.

Awesome stuff, just awesome.

St´s staff and members demand in-depth reviews asap. wink.gif

Better than the Sonic T? What do you think Scott?

According to the Yamaha 10000 site that JP provided a link to, Yamaha manufactured ~ 500 of each componant, and I'm sure most of them are in Japan.

Despite the dent to the corner of the MX-10000 I'm ecstatic with these. That dent will need to be touched up, and any suggestions are welcome. I am not rushing to do anything to it.

Although none of these pieces are pristine - there are little dings and scratches on all of them - they are still beautiful. I never thought there was any chance that I'd be able to have these in my system. tongue.gif They are simply amazing pieces. Many more pics (including nudies of course) and commentary to follow!
