The Panasonic Caps ( both FC and FM ) have been selected for their liquid, smooth flowing sound, their low ESR and long life 105c rating.
The non polar caps have been slected because they sound a lot better than directional electrolytics, offereing excelent frequency caracteristics and minimal capacitance deviation with frequency. The Epcos polypropylene caps have been chosen as they are, imo, one of the best sounding polyprops currently available UF4007 Diodes were chosen because they are the fastest in town. So, here's some pics : Before the mods. ![]() ![]() New caps waiting... ![]() ![]() After the mods. ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by clint e. on April 10, 2007 05:49 am -------------------- ![]() " Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be measured " Albert Einstein![]() |

Nice work, Alvaro. However, polarized caps are usually used for a reason in circuits. Did you find something about the X10-D that says bipolar are alright to use?

Nice pic.
We can even see you and your camera reflected on the top of those tubes. Hmmm, JAN ( Joint Army Navy ) tubes are supposed to be first rate. Nice touch. Jorge |

Sorry to informe you cuoreboy, but that is not the Musical Fidelity's X-10D shematics and board. Not even close! That's diy stuff from somebody using the MF, X-10D logo. That's lots of good clones over there, but that is not the case here. We at ST have a topic about some interesting DIY pages, next time i advice you to post subjects like that over there. Tanx. EDITED BTW, here's the Chineese DIY page from where you took the schematics: http://gc.digitw.com/new_page_24.htm As i said before, you can post this link at DIY links at ST if you want.
