Well,
Just received my new Woo 6 amp. Man this thing is beautiful! Extremely well built, it has plenty of muscle to drive my K701's to very loud levels.  This is my first tube product, and I must say I'm very impressed! I can't believe how good this old technology can sound. What really impresses me the most , is how quite the amp is. Music seems to flow from a dead black background. I only have about 12 hours on my amp, so an in depth review should wait I guess, although I'm not one of those die hard believers in burn for electronics, I do think it affects dynamic drivers though. So far the Woo is a class act, and Jack is a wonderful, passionate, business man, who pays attention to the smallest details. I can't say enough about working with Jack. The amp is worth the price just based on the support alone. Their are very few products I have been this satisfied with, in a world where service, and quality are much to often a distant memory. As a business  owner myself, I applaud Wooaudio for it's passion in producing a top flight, quality product.

Thanks guys. I am absolutely trilled with it. It's sound is very detailed. The amp has tons of resolution without being the slightest bit harsh. It has plenty of power to drive my K701's to very loud levels, thanks to the transformer coupling. I can't remember being this please with a product in years. Jack, the guy who builds them, is absolutely fantastic! I found a very small nick on the the rear of the power transformer lid and mentioned to jack, so he is sending me out a new one pronto. All in all a class act.

The cost is $570.00. It is hand built here in New York by Mr. Wu. The guy is great to work with, and he produces a top quality product. Each amp is burned in for 10 hours before shipping. The Woo is a class act! I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. Previously I had bought a Chinese built Val E10 amp, that arrived defective. Never again. The piece of mind that comes with buying this amp is worth every cent. soundt/banana.gif soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

I want a tube headphone amp so bad.. I just bought a pair of Senn HD-590 and they are begging me to get a tube headphone amp.

Just curious.. if you had to replace all three tubes. how much would that run ya? for the same ones?

The tubes are cheap. The two 6de7's are about $7.00 a piece, and the rectifier tube costs between $12 - $20.00 depending on the make. Pretty small price to pay for such wonderful sound. soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

I've had my Woo Audio 6 now for approx. 6 weeks and I'm in headphone nirvana! I had Jack trick my amp out with all the whistles and bells:

V-Cap for stage coupling, Teflon film and tin foil reference capacitors, matched pair - 0.15uf/600V

Blackgate capacitors for voltage filtering Power Tank 220uf/200V (x2)

Blackgate 150u/350v Blackgate decoupling capacitors (x2)

Blackgate 220u/16v Blackgate by-pass capacitors (x4)

This amp is driving my Sennheiser HD650's.

It will be quite a while before I contract a fatal case of upgrade-itus! soundt/woot.gif

i've said the same thing many times, and meant every one, but things just seem to happen anyway.
