We should do something to celebrate our site´s first year of existence.

I don´t know if the higher-ups are planning something in the secrecy of " The Olympus", but perhaps we, the simple lowly peons, could come up with some ideas too. biggrin.gif

I´ve always been short of imaginative ideas, but I´m sure others could give a hand here.

So, what say you?

Sound Thinking (the forum biggrin.gif ) was founded on June 29th 2006.

I agree with Jorge, we need to plan some festivities to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the site.

OK, here's the deal. Jorge and I have been conspiring, and have decided to do this. We're going to have a give-away honoring ST's existence. For the first "prize" I have offered a 32+ foot pair of that "secret" speaker wire. It is 10ga plated(nickel, I believe) stranded copper, teflon insulated cloth wrapped. I will send it to the winner when "selected". We haven't decided how they will be chosen yet, but I have an idea.

I believe Jorge has second and third "prize", so I'll let him chime in. If you need to move this or make an announcement, feel free.

Larry

Alright, let me start by pointing out that this is not an official ST initiative. It comes from the lower ladders of the chain here, so if we incurr in something less than appropriate, fell free to spank our bottoms at will. biggrin.gif

Having said that, I couldn´t be left looking bad after Larry´s generosity, so I´ve come up with a pair of QED Qunex-1 interconnects for the runner-up, and an Audioquest Digital-X interconect ( to run between transport and DAC ) for 3rd place.

Of course I´ll send the cables to the respective winners.

Larry´s running this show under the fatherly supervision of our esteemed leader Dingus. So, let´s wait and see what he comes up with as to the selection procedure.

I think it's a rather sweet idea. That being said, I will donate a "consolation" prize that will be determined in about the same way as the others. There will be a condition prior to shipment, but that will be announced after it's awarded.

Congrats on the Paper Anniversary, guys!

I think it's very generous of you to jump right over paper, and copper, and bronze, and even iron, RIGHT TO NICKEL.

I'm not too covetous of the bikini, unless one of the
Brazilian babes in "that other thread" come packaged in it...

Hope it continues to be fun for you.

best,
dennis

I guess I won't spend my bday bestbuy gift certificates on interconnects...
yet.
