since i have no soldering skills.. my friend did the crossover rebuild on a pair of Polk monitor 7A's about two weeks ago.
I went with Mills and Solen for parts. The crossover rebuild breathed new life into these 30 yr old speakers. Cost me less than $60 in parts for both crossovers. I have another pair of the monitor 7's, that I want to have the crossovers rebuilt, but this time using Kimber Kaps instead. In hopes that this will have the same positive level of sound improvement. Anyone else ever rebuilt their crossovers in any of their speakers? If so, what were the end results? -------------------- People will eventually forget exactly what it was you said and did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.... unknown

JP rebuilt the crossovers in the Infinity Quantum 2's that I bought from him. I believe he has a thread describing what he did. The end result is that they sound great.

JP also did Paul's DQ-10's which is documented here as well. i assisted on that project but i didnt really know what i was doing.
i did do my Wharfedale W-60D's with el-cheapo caps, i'm not real pleased with the outcome, they dont sound any better than before the re-cap, so i am planning to put in some quality caps at some point in the future. -------------------- Teledyne AR9, Yamaha B-2x, Yamaha M-2, Hafler DH-110, EAD DSP 1000, Wadia WT-3200.
