AND THE WINNERS ARE......!

First I'd like to thank all of you at Sound Thinking for making the place what it is.

Jorge had the idea to have an anniversary give-away, and Dingus gave us the guidelines and OK to do it. The criteria for the "contest" was simple: The first "public" post on Sound Thinking was at 1:29 PM on June 29, 2006 (Superfly). Jorge and I both agreed that we would award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize to the first three posts AFTER 1:29 on June 29, 2007. The only restriction is that the "winners" had to have at least 10 prior posts, in order to avoid a drive-by. The time stamp was determined by the "View recent posts" which I monitored.

It is my pleasure to announce that the 1st place prize goes to:

First of all let me start by saying how glad I am we are such a closed knitted community and how lucky I am to be able to spend some ( a lot, actually ) of my free time with you guys.

Amazingly, as if things weren´t exciting enough yesterday, we had to revert to "photofinish" for 2nd and 3rd places.

Following the same criteria of post times shown in the "View new posts" option that was monitored by Larry ( he did all the work, I´m just here to get some credit ), I´m pleased to announce the runner up is

After Larry ( or Miss Prussy herself, wouldn´t that be nice?) announces Miss Prussy´s consolation prize winner, I will actually have to do something in this all affair and PM Hakka26 and Jim Eck. They, in turn, will have to PM me a shipping adress for the cables to be sent to, early next week.

You guys will have to be pateient and allow 3-4 week minimum for delivery from here.

Well, hasn't this been exciting! I'm proud to be associated with this forum, and use it quite frequently while teaching my Moderator class, although I must say that you are all so well behaved, that moderation is rarely needed here.

Since you all work so hard making this place what it is, I decided to give a consolation prize that is a little on the "fun" side. Since "Last Post Wins" is just a frivilous thread where you members can go to relax, I award the prize to the first post of the new year in that thread, excluding previous winners. It took almost 6 hours, but the official winner is:

CUBDOG

with a post at 7:31PM.

I ask all my students to "put on your thinking cap" from time to time, so I guess an appropriate prize would be a "Sound Thinking Cap"

Since I don't have a photo of the hat, I am sure that cubdog will be more than happy to provide us all with a photo when he receives it. (Wearing it, of course)

Just got the word from Larry.
He shipped his give away prizes today, and so did I.

Naturally, Rickrob and Cubdog should get their speaker cable and ST cap, respectively, a few days before Hakka26 and Jim Eck get their cables from Portugal.

Sooooo......, what both Larry and myself would like to ask you guys is to post your impressions, if any, after you have the chance to try them out.

Don´t be shy. I´m a cable skeptic myself.

As for Cubdog and his new Thinking Cap, a simple pic will do. In close-up and Hi rez, of course.
