Mustn't forget to mention the MAD plug-in. It's a necessity, to me, for MP3s and manages to make most of the higher bit rates listenable. Very significant improvement.

IBM has sold the hard drive part of their business to Hitachi, the new company is called Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. The utilities for the Travelstar, Deskstar and Ultrastar hard drives are available here:
